Pastor Mark Lauer's Ordination
Pastor Mark's ordination as a presbyter (priest) in the Anglican Mission in the Americas is set for November 15, 2009. That is a Sunday. The ordination will be a Sunday service at Wellspring Anglican Church. Bishop Sandy Greene requested doing the ordination in a single service, and we will travel to Modesto because Wellspring will ordain two of their own pastoral staff, one as deacon and the other as priest.

Wellspring Anglican Church
There will be NO worship service on Sunday at Orchard's building at 1:30
We will not have a worship service at Christ the King that Sunday. Because Dn. Carole will also be involved in the ordination service, we have no one to lead a separate service in Campbell. Therefore, thankfully we have friends at St. James Anglican who will warmly welcome anyone that morning. St. James hosts two services, 9:00am (Rite 1) and 10:30am (Rite 2). Ongoing MissionsRwandan Blessing
Christ the King Anglican Church has pledged to donate $10,000 to support Archbishop Immanuel Kolini's work to rebuild the country of Rwanda, the sponsoring nation of the Anglican Mission in the Americas. Rwanda's genocide left 15% of that nations children orphaned. Archbishop Kolini has been working with the government of Rwanda to build homes and provide social care for Rwanda's people, as well as education and ministry to felt needs, so that the horrors of genocide will never be seen again in that country. We have already sent $9,000 and will be sending more after we hold a fund-raiser. Outreach GroupOur Outreach Group, one of the small groups of Christ the King Anglican Church, is always looking for new opportunities to minister to our community. If you have an idea for an outreach event, please print out and fill in this form and return it to Pastor Mark Lauer.Hymn Sing for Alzheimer's PatientsJoin Marilyn Hills and the Outreach Group from 3:30-4:00 on the first Sunday of every month at Mission Villa, an Alzheimer's home located at 333 South Bascom, as we sing familiar hymns to the patients. "Music is healing for Alzheimer's patients," says Marilyn. "We can do something significant here." | ||
